Matthew Doherty

Matt has worked as a fundraising consultant with Concise for the past 4 years. He is passionate about supporting small charities grow their income by helping them to develop a clear strategy and create a strong case for support. He has experience in a range of sectors but his main areas of expertise include disadvantaged young people, social welfare and mental health.

Matt moved to fundraising after a successful 13-year career in education. He was a key stage leader in special measures schools and also ran a successful alternative education consultancy where he gained experience in raising funds for schools.

Matt has also managed international b2b publications, giving him extensive experience in managing sales teams, presenting to large groups and winning large corporate advertising clients.
Currently Matt specialises in trust and corporate partnerships, working mainly with newly established charities. Matt works closely with clients to ensure their organisation is fully prepared to make funding applications, developing a clear case for support and helping them to build relationships with new funders.

After a reasonably successful Judo career and passing the rigors of the Royal Marine Commando course, Matt takes his fitness just as seriously as being a father of 3. Outside of work he enjoys teaching young people Judo and reading history biographies.
