Transitions UK supports vulnerable and disadvantaged young people including those leaving care, ex-offenders, those with special educational needs and young people with mental health challenges.
Concise was approached by Transitions to initially provide trust fundraising support. We worked closely with the CEO to understand the charity’s strategic plan, the services offered and what they wanted to achieve long term. We reviewed their previous applications and worked with the organisation to strengthen their case for support. We ensured the projects were explained concisely, whilst highlighting the positive impact their support was having on young people. To date we have made over 100 applications and we have developed new relationships with many trusts, which Transitions will be able to build on in the future. We are currently achieving a 17:1 return on investment with many applications still pending, which for a relatively new charity, is a solid start.
We were also asked to plan and deliver a number of training days for the corporate and community fundraising team. The training highlighted:
- different successful approaches to corporate and community funders
- do’s and don’ts in regard to legalities
- how to make their data recording more efficient and effective
- how to best steward a corporate partner to maximise their relationship
As part of this work, we also supported the CEO in their recruitment of a new Fundraising Manager.
We have been immensely proud to work with Transitions UK over the past two years. They have taken a new and innovative approach to supporting overlooked young people as they transition to adult life – and they are achieving some truly inspirational results.
