Wintercomfort is a day centre in Cambridge that has been supporting the homeless community for nearly 30 years. It provides a variety of services including free welfare, learning and development programmes as well as paid employment opportunities through their two social enterprises.
Since October 2016, Concise has been providing Wintercomfort with weekly trust fundraising support. Working closely with the CEO and senior management team, we have helped the charity design several new projects, creating a number of compelling cases for support. As part of this process, we researched and collected statistical data and extensive background evidence. We also ensured all essential elements of the project were clearly communicated in every funding proposal. This included need, outputs, clear outcomes and evaluation and monitoring processes. We also worked with the client to create detailed budgets for every project, applying a full cost recovery model wherever possible.
Over the past 3.5 years, Concise has consistently achieved a 10:1 return on investment for Wintercomfort. A few of our main successes include a 4 year National Lottery Community Fund bid (£422,000) and we have been instrumental in securing funding to deliver a 3 year project to support the homeless migrant community as well as a new day service exclusively for homeless women in Cambridge.
Wintercomfort is an exceptional organisation and we are proud to be working with them to support the most isolated and marginalized people within our community.
